Intense and Velvety
Super Bar is the blend for coffee shops created by the wise vision of Mariano. Among the varieties of Rio Rica this is certainly the most popular blend served by coffee shops and cafe. It is a blend composed of 70% of Brazilian and Colombian Arabica and 30% of fine Robusta from India, Congo, Cameroon and Indonesia.
The roasting is medium and uniform and the size of the beans is medium-large. The presence in the grinder hopper of huge coffee beans (size greater than 1.5cm) certainly delivers a pleasant impression of elegance and quality to the blend.
In the cup Rio Rica Super Bar offers a classic interpretation of the Italian Espresso: very intense, velvety and persistent hazelnut crema, absolutely free of sour.
An interesting curiosity of this blend is the final aromatic note of tobacco that spreads in the palate of the taster.

The first cup of espresso Rio Rica was served in 1969 in a small craft workshop located in the historic centre of Pesaro (Marche). For years the aromas and scents of freshly roasted Rio Rica blends spread through the alleys and squares of the town centre. In the mid-eighties of last century, the Rio Rica built the new roasting plant in the industrial area of Villa Fastiggi (Pesaro).
Curious is the choice of the brand by the founder. The Rio Rica brand is a reference to the areas from which the coffee beans of the first Rio Rica blends arrived: Brazil (represented in the imagination of the time by the city of Rio de Janeiro) and Costa Rica.
The roaster Rio Rica produces its own blends according to the traditional method of "separate roasting" with "indirect fire", toasting the coffee for each individual origin. The individual selected varieties are subjected to different temperature profiles which progressively reach 200-230°C for about 15 minutes. The method and experience of Rio Rica guarantee the colour uniformity of each coffee bean and the correct formation of refined aromas of the Rio Rica bar quality blends.
